how to add a link to a Snapchat story
People look for a link sticker on Snapchat because that is how Instagram does it, and there is not one. Snapchat attaches links with a paperclip, and the link rides on the whole snap rather than sitting on it as a sticker.
attaching a link to a snap
- Take the snap, or open Memories and pick an image from your Camera Roll.
- In the editor, find the paperclip in the tools down the right-hand side.
- Paste your link, then tap Attach to Snap.
- Tap Send To and pick My Story.
Whoever watches it sees a small chip with the link on the snap, and can open it from there.
the part people get wrong
Because there is no sticker, there is nothing on the image telling anyone a link is attached. If the picture itself does not say what to do, most people watch it and move on.
So the image should carry the ask. A snap that says "send me a song" with a search box drawn on it tells people what the link does before they find the chip. A photo of your lunch with a link attached tells them nothing.
what to attach
Same rule as any story: whatever opens has to make sense in the second somebody gives it. Something that plays, or one question with a field to answer it.
A sixseven page makes the image for you — your songs and your question, story-sized — and walks you through the paperclip in Snapchat's own layout, so you know what you are looking for before you open the app.
